    louobedlam: Went with a gaggle of ladies up to the poppy preserve, which didn’t have many poppies and cost $10 to park.  Park and see not a lot of poppies.  So we kept driving, found a more popp-ulated…I feel awful having written that…spot, set up camp. Shot until it got crowded with weirdoes who liked taking pictures of us.  Us.  That’s right.  Bunch of folks taking pictures, that’s what they were taking pictures of.   Folks are creepy.   -  Once upon a time I threw a bunch of poppy seeds on the yard in front of Jon’s house (my house also at the time) after there had been heavy construction on the playground around the corner, and they decided to just lay down wood chips.  Wood chips! For a few years the poppies gloriously ruled that plot and I wanted to lay down upon them this year for one of my 365 pictures.   But when I was there last week, the Presidio maintenance crew was weed whacking them.   Isn’t that a crime?  To destroy the state flower?   It should be, it should be.
